In what would be the 26th fixture of IPL 2020, Steve Smith’s Rajasthan Royals will lock horns with David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on October 11. The RR vs SRH clash will be the first game, a day fixture, of the double-header day on Sunday.

“The games are coming in thick and fast so we need to adjust quickly and put on our best show against a strong Sunrisers team who’ve got a good overall team, we’ll have to be at our very best to beat them,” RR captain Steve Smith said ahead of the clash against SRH.

DC vs SRH Top Picks
Rishabh Pant : He has been excellent player in this league for the last three seasons and in this season too he has started well with two useful thirties and will be eager to play a big one. David Warner : The most consistent batsman of this league’s history and in the last match he got his touch back with a small knock of 36 runs and will be determind to lead his side with a big knock. Prithvi Shaw : He bats with an attacking approach and in the last match played a winning knock of 64 runs and the bowling attack of Hyderabad will suit him so he might play yet another good innings. Rashid Khan : He hasn’t at his best in the first two matches but a very good player of this format and also a handy batsman who can hit a few big shots. The track of Abu Dhabi will suit his bowling and he should have a good day at office.
With the pitch being a sporting one, it is better to have a good balance between the number of players from each category while picking your Dream11 Fantasy team.
Dream 11 IPL 2020
The tournament is set to kick off with a blockbuster clash, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns with three-time winners and the runners-up of the last edition, Chennai Super Kings.
The 53-day tournament will consist of 10 double-headers and will be played in the bio-secure environment of the UAE behind closed doors.
The IPL will take place across the three venues in the United Arab Emirates- Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will host 20 round-robin games including the tournament opener, while Dubai and Sharjah will play host to 24 and 12 games respectively.Earlier, BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly stated that the IPL 2020 schedule will be released on September 4, 2020, in an interview to ABP News.
“We understand schedules are delayed. It is almost on the verge of getting final and should be released by Friday”, said Ganguly.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Brijesh Patel informed that the IPL Governing Council is proposed to meet after 24 July to chalk out the final details and schedule of IPL 2020.
What a finish!! Tewatia and Parag fire RR to a come-from-behind thrilling victory. Parag hit the winning runs by clubbing Khaleel for a massive six over deep point. However, it was Tewatia who again turned out to be the man of the moment. Today, he didn’t just hoick across the line but even played the reverse-hit off Rashid Khan.
Celebrations galore from the pair! RR’s camp is chuffed.
Cricket is indeed a game of glorious uncertainties.
Man of the moment – Tewatia
Tewatia is the man of the moment. He scoops Natarajan for a six and also clubs the same bowler into the boundary hoardings via mid-off.
Just eight needed off six. One of the greatest turnarounds in the making.
Fingernails to be chewed
Tewatia is on the move again. And that too he reverse-hit Rashid Khan for a couple of boundaries!! What a thriller!! Warner would be thinking about the fluffed chance, which gave Parag the reprieve.
22 in two overs.
RR inch closer
Warner would be chewing a few fingernails now. Parag smacked a couple of boundaries, including the scoop. While Tewatia tonked Sandeep in the same over for the maximum. Game on!
36 in 3 overs.
Four overs. 54 needed!
Four overs to go. RR need to up the ante as the run-rate has climbed to over 13. However, Parag just about keeps SRH in the game by tonking Khaleel for a six over midwicket. In fact, he was dropped in the same over.
The track is certainly gripping.
Rashid Khan then dismissed the key man Sanju Samson to leave RR in tatters. The leg-break which gripped off the surface and caught Samson’s edge. Brilliant bowling. RR in more trouble.
Another one falls…
Samson pulled and cut to the boundary boards to lift the run-rate. Just when Uthappa and Samson seemed to be building a stand, the former was prised out lbw by Rashid. Trademark skidder from Rashid and Uthappa paid the price for playing around his front pad. Uthappa took the review but to no avail.
Khaleel on fire
Oh, now a run out. Smith, the skipper, is back in the hut. Buttler wanted an extra run but there wasn’t one. Good throw from Shankar and Natarajan did the rest.
Khaleel then bowled the cutter to induce the edge and for Bairstow to pluck the catch. Three of RR’s big guns are back in the pavilion. RR in massive trouble.
Khaleel on fire!
RR made the bold move of sending Stokes to open the batting. However, it didn’t exactly work out as he inside-edged a pull off Khaleel onto the stumps. Huge wicket for SRH. Warner is chuffed to bits. As is Khaleel.
Williamson and eye-catching stroke-play
Kane Williamson targeted Archer in the 19th over to lift SRH to 158/4. He cracked an amazing one-handed six off Archer’s slower one and then played an audacious pull off a 93mph delivery to power his side close to the 160-run mark.
The SRH camp would be quite pleased with the score, as the track is on the slower side.
Unadkat and variations
Manish Pandey reached a well-measured fifty. He cracked sumptuous lofts and also the occasional flick here and there. Just that at the nick of time, Unadkat sent Pandey back to the hut with a slower bouncer. The two-paced deck is assisting Unadkat.
Warner falls; Manish on a roll
Jofra Archer castled Warner with another of his quick deliveries. Warner made room, but Archer was up to the task as he followed him and targeted the stumps.
Huge wicket as Warner was set. Meanwhile, Pandey is on a roll. He has smacked a couple of sixes and one boundary. Tewatia could have picked up his wicket but Tyagi misjudged a chance at midwicket, and it trickled away to the boundary hoardings.
Warner in imperious touch
David Warner continues to impress for SRH. He clattered a drive over extra-cover and then smacked Tyagi through the same region for the maximum. Imperious batting. He has also pinched singles and twos. SRH have picked up the run-rate after a slow start on a tricky deck.
Meanwhile, Stokes bowled his first over of the competition, giving away seven runs.
Tyagi has the final say
Tyagi has his man. Bairstow tonked him for a six, but the youngster dismissed the wicketkeeper-batsman, the next ball. The promising paceman hit the bat hard on a shorter length and Bairstow could only lob one towards square leg, where Samson dashed across and plucked a stunner.
Tyagi is pumped. RR fielders are pumped. The dangerous Bairstow is out.
Jofra on song
Jofra Archer has bowled a fiery spell so far. Fast and accurate. A few nasty bumpers too. The knees are pumping. He just makes fast bowling look easy.
Gopal too has started well. Smith would be happy with his bowlers.
Toss and teams
Yes! Ben Stokes has returned to RR’s set-up. And that would be a confidence-booster. RR have also picked Parag and Uthappa. SRH have gone for Vijay Shankar ahead of Samad.
Meanwhile, SRH have won the toss and opted to bat. The track could get slower. So it could be a good toss to win.
Steve Smith – We can hopefully rectify a few things today. We want to compete today. Looks like a used wicket, could slow down. We’ll have to take some early wickets – Look he trained well and he’s in today (Stokes). Two other changes as well. Stokes, Riyan Parag and Robin Uthappa are back. We’ll need to keep moving forward, we have a good team and we need to compete.
David Warner – We’ll bat first. It’s a nice wicket, we will need to make most of the powerplay overs, hopefully, things will go on nicely today. We have a lot of young legs in our team, the seniors take full responsibility. We are taking each game as it comes – Vijay Shankar in and Samad misses out
Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Jonny Bairstow(w), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, T Natarajan
Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Jos Buttler(w), Robin Uthappa, Sanju Samson, Steven Smith(c), Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Kartik Tyagi, Varun Aaron
Good news! For people wondering, Ben Stokes is indeed warming up, will he be a part of Royals playng XI? We’ll get to know in a short while
Prelude – SRH v RR
Two successive wins. Four losses in a row. The IPL 2020 has been a tale of two halves for Rajasthan Royals so far. The franchise started on a bang by winning in Sharjah, but have struggled to maintain that momentum.
Barring Jofra Archer and to a lesser Rahul Tewatia, rest of the bowlers haven’t made an impact. After notching up substantial scores in Sharjah, the batsmen too have been below par. In that context, Ben Stokes’ much-anticipated return could boost the side.
“Stokes hasn’t had a lot of practice, he gets out of quarantine tomorrow, so we’ll see if he plays the day after tomorrow,” Smith had noted after RR slid to a loss against Delhi Capitals.
What about Sunrisers Hyderabad? Even though the Hyderabad franchise has struggled with a few injuries, they have been able to eke out hard-fought wins and find themselves at the fifth spot on the points table. Jonny Bairstow and David Warner have once again turned out to be the cornerstones of the batting unit, while Rashid Khan and T Natarajan have performed admirably with the ball.
On side note, Jofra Archer dismissed Warner in 4 of the 5 innings the pair came up against each other in the recent bilateral series.
Check out our preview as we dissect the two sides ahead of the encounter.
IPL 2020 RR vs SRH Live Cricket Score Streaming Online: Rajasthan Royals would be hoping to continue the winning momentum but Sunrisers Hyderabad cannot afford to slip up even one bit with five games remaining. The Sunrisers are currently tottering at the second last place in the eight-team table with just six points from nine game while Royals are a notch ahead with eight points after their comprehensive win over Chennai Super Kings in the previous game.

Professional sport in India has seen some great financial investment over the last couple of years. The most obvious being the Indian Premier League Cricket, but more recently the introduction of the Indian Super League Football and the Indian Premier League Tennis. Investment is key to start and grow these leagues and sponsors have not been shy. The link to professional sport is still a very appealing partnership for companies and investors even though there is no formula to say how successful this is.
The Indian Premier League TV rights was sold for $1 billion a couple of years back. Pepsi and Sony are happy to pay between $10-25 million for sponsorship deals. Player auctions will quite often exceed the $1 million to gain the best cricketers from all over the world for one season. The season lasts for 7 weeks.
Indian Super League Football is a new creation and will consist of eight franchise teams. Sachin Tendulkar bagged the Kochi franchise and Sourav Ganguly took the Kolkata franchise, both for approximately $25 million each. Ganguly’s bid was also in partnership with several businessmen and most notably Atletico Madrid. Man City may have set a trend for co-owning teams in up and coming leagues, with their purchase of New York City in the MLS and Melbourne City in the A-League. The season will run from September till November.
The Indian Premier League Tennis has attracted nearly all of the top 20 players in the world. Rafael Nadal will be paid $1 million per night to play a new format of one set tennis. The league will run for 4 weeks in November and December.
There is great investment taking place on the field, but another opportunity cannot be missed. The power of sport in India, with the most obvious being cricket, can tackle many social issues such as health, education, social inclusion, disability, employment and more. There is currently no structure in place to use professional sports teams as a foundation to tackle these issues. The good news is that the Government is planning to make sport an integral part of the school curriculum. The proposal will also improve the infrastructure and facilities that are currently offered. Health and fitness have been neglected in the Indian education system and sport would link them together. This will represent an opportunity for sports education companies to develop programmes and structures to make this happen, but there is huge potential to include professional sport to tackle education and heath along with other social issues.
The English Premier League and Football League models are very successful and could be adopted. The professional football clubs have become central figures in their communities and bring together education, local authority, local businesses and charities to build strategies and programs to tackle these issues. The attraction of the local professional team, brings these partners together and engages local beneficiaries in large numbers. There will be differences in culture, the education system and some opposition, but the most important elements are there for India to adopt.
The power of sport – Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the most famous person in India and therefore one of the most influential. He is referred to as having a ‘god like’ status in a country steeped in religious beliefs. A cricket ball a tennis racquet a football are all engagement tools for young people. Once young people are engaged you can start tackling the other social issues.
Finance – The professional leagues mentioned above have attracted large investment. Investors will be attracted by the ability of the partnership to promote their product or service and also the ability to evidence their social responsibilities. A good business is also a good citizen!
The need – Over 30% of the population are under the international poverty rate resulting in inadequate access to health care and education. More than 50% of the population is aged under 25 and this on the rise.
There is great potential for sport to be more than just a game. The cricketing gods of India can bring many social changes
