Stater Bros. Markets artist retired from the city of Colton

Ernie Robert Flores, who worked as an artist for Stater Bros. Markets, died on Jan. 17, 2021. He was 76.

Born on June 17, 1944, in San Bernardino to Gonsalo “Ben” Flores and Helen Almendarez Flores, he attended Rialto Elementary, Rialto Junior High, Eisenhower High School and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1962.

He also worked at Rialto Publishing, Kaiser Steel and Arrowhead Waters.

He retired from the city of Colton.

He is survived by his son Ernest “Mijo” R. Flores; daughters Susie Flores of Redlands and MaryHelen Garcia and her husband Danny of San Bernardino; four grandchildren, Daniel “DJ” Flores, Annamarie Flores, Daniel and Darren Garcia; two great-grandchildren, Trinia and Cashay; brothers Ben Flores of San Bernardino and Juan Flores of San Bernardino; and sisters Sylvia Payan and her husband of Rialto and Delia Hernandez of Colton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward “Eddie” Flores and Danny Flores of San Bernardino.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at St. Bernardine Church, 531 N. F St., in San Bernardino, followed by burial services at 11 a.m. at Mt. View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino.
