Director of Prisons sent on leave
Director of Prisons Gladwin Samuels has been asked to proceed on leave effective immediately.

Sources told Stabroek News that Samuels, who has approximately 130 days of accumulated administrative leave was asked to proceed on same.
As a result, Deputy Director of Prisons Niclon Elliot has been tasked to oversee the operations of the prisons.
